The EVENT module is brilliant for schools and organisations who have a schedule of shared activities.
It is very powerful and simple to maintain. Event data is available in calendar form or as a chronological list. It also may be posted to the front (or any other) page as a sidebar block as illustrated towards the bottom of the left sidebar on this demonstration site.
PICTURES may be incorporated throughout the site which is equipped with sophisticated tools for selecting, uploading, thumbnailing and placing images. For the administrator responsible for managing site content, loading pictures would have the steepest learning curve but can be mastered in about a half hour.
You will notice that images, too, may be made to enlarge for greater detail. On this site we are using the Lightbox tool which opens the enlarged image into a semi-transparent overlay. Other methods are available.
